cleung Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I would like to ask everyone, particularly the hard stylists here, a question about soft style weapons forms at tournaments. When you see soft stylists do weapons in competition, which Chinese weapons do you prefer to see? ClintFree Spirit Martial Arts Activewearhttp://www.FreeSpiritActivewear.com
jperk1966 Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 It is hard for Japanese, Okinawan and Korean Stylist to judge chinese soft style weapons. I myself usually bow out and let someone else judge. However when I do judge chinese weapons. I like to see the double broad swords and the whirling spear. 6th Dan USA Goju2nd Dan Shorin RyuBlack Sash Sil Lum Kung FuSensei James Perkinshttp://www.worldmartialartsunion.us

cleung Posted January 2, 2006 Author Posted January 2, 2006 What do you folks think about Chinese staffs and 3 section staffs? ClintFree Spirit Martial Arts Activewearhttp://www.FreeSpiritActivewear.com
MasterH Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 What do you folks think about Chinese staffs and 3 section staffs? The chinese staff is different, I would need to see it up close to have a real opinion. But from what I've seen from the 3 section staff, the martial artist would need to really know what he is doing to immpress me. I've seen a very high ranking TKDist do a 3 section staff form on a DVD and it was bad. Adam (Fluffy) Huntleyhttps://www.rleeermey.comhttps://www.martialartsindustry.net

Either it is the most impressive thing since sliced bread, or it's a travesty. It's a really hard weapon to make look really smooth.Aodhan There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.-Douglas Everett, American hockey player
