Hi,

Currently a 1st Dan who has been out of karate for 2/3 years trying to find a new club, preferably Shotokan in/around Manchester.

Any one heard of Dento-Kai Shukokai Karate club in Denton, Manchester - found their website but couldnt get hold of the club instructors on the numbers given, and just wondered if it still going (depending on how old website is)

Any advice welcomed.

Cheers

Nick

There is a Shotokan Dojo in Denton just around the corner from the Sainsbury's there.

If travelling is not an issue for you there will be other styles etc that might be good for you.

What did you earn you Dan grade in?

Is it specifically the Dentonarea that you're interested in?

You said preferrably Shotokan, but have then asked about a Shukokai dojo.

Denton Shotokan Karate Club is in an old mill building near to Sainsburys.

It's been there for years and is run by Dennis Tilley under Sensei Kato's group.

It's not KUGB.

Manchester's a fairly big city and it's around 20 miles across. There will be lots of Shotokan dojos and Shukokai ones too. Not many of the other big styles though.

That's vey true, Manchester is full of Shukokai/Shito Ryu and Shotokan clubs then you'll get a mix of Shotokan and Wado clubs, then you get Freestyle and the rare Kyokushin style club oh and quite a few Kung Fu/Tai chi classes loads of WTF clubs and a rare ITF school but loads of Jujitsu based schools too
