fylcon
Taking size out of the picture, those v-neck tops just will not fit every female no matter how thin they are. However with her size she may feel more comfortable wearing a T-Shirt and a gi. However give her the choice of wearing a black gi over a white gi. I'm no where near heavy and when I look at myself in those mirrors in a white gi all I know is they make me look fat, the black gi didn't make me look that way and now I wear blue v-neck and black bottoms. Infact many of the women I know prefer black for obvious reasons.
liquidkudzu
Just have some school T-shirts printed up, for use as a alternative to the Gi top. HKFI have no problem with tshirts (we wore them in the summer at the school I came from), I just don't like it when you go to a school, and some students are wearing red gi's, some blue gi's, some tshirts, some v-necks. The school I came from was like that, although our official color was a black gi. The quality was great, but anyone could wear anything with their belt. I believe a black belt can wear anything they want, but students should have a dress code.If I end up starting back up again, I will only let students wear black gi's during the year and tshirts during the summer. Also, the gi's will have to match in style, whether it is cross over for everyone or cross over for guys and v-necks for girls.lk
Meguro
I don't think the v-necks look good on anyone, fat or skinny. Stick to the traditional cross-over type if you can.
CTTKDKing
I was severly overweight when I started TKD, and I was given a v neck uniform to wear. It didn't feel right because the uniforms are cut for skinny people. From what I've seen, the bigger the size the taller the person is supposed to be, but it's not cut any roomier. I found a site on the internet that sells bigger gi's. Check it out. Since I started TKD I've lost 90lbs and feel great.http://www.oddessy.com/Uniforms/GiHeavy.html "The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering." patusai
Let me start by saying...I'm pretty heavy...ok, I'm down right fat!! Anything will fit me but nothing fits me well. Fat people have a difficult time finding anything that fit them well....at least that has been my experiecnce. As for V neck they fit me but unless it is oversized (larger than what I need) it does not fit comfortably. When it is oversized it looks like I'm wearing a tent. Needless to say I don't wear them anymore. Perhaps offer the option?
