fallen_milkman
Class at 6pm today...and I have the second part of my yellow sash test ahead of me. The first half was our form and 12 basic self defense moves. A half hour of sparring is the second half. I think I'm ready, and hopefully I'll return around 8:30 with news of my success. Wish me luck! 36 styles of danger

fallen_milkman
Success! Almost puked half way through, but then there was a 2 minute break, and I gathered myself up before the second half. I was fighting way too hard the first 15 minutes. For the last part, I basically closed up my gaurd and made them come at me, only taking enough shots to show I was still alive. I am so glad I passed. I was sparring one of my teachers for the final part of the first 15 minutes, and I must have looked pretty bad, (I certainly felt bad!), and he seemed pretty worried. He kept telling me not to throw up. (That is an automatic fail.)But what matters is I made it! Now to go sew my yellow tags on my sash, and tomorrow I get to buy the dragon patch to go on it! pepto_bismol
wow throwing up is an automatic fail. I think that's really unfair. I used to throw up all the time during 4 hour work outs and a lack of food. Passed more then I failed though.I think if you hold your own in sparring and know your forms really wella little bit of... colored liquid shouldn't be a big deal Did you ever ask your instructors why throwing up is an automatic fail, that's really the first time I heard of that. fallen_milkman
My teacher is big on endurance. If you can dodge and defend against your opponent until he's way too tired to keep fighting, then you can take him out if you're still fresh. Thus the 10 3-minute rounds. He knows it's hard, but what is the fun of accomplishing something easy? Also, you just can't throw up during. Afterwords is ok. 36 styles of danger

orion82698
Nice job. Congrats! It is a natural reaction that the body causes nausea when put through extreme workload. I will sometimes throwup after a good run if I push myself too hard. I eat 2 hours before my workouts. Your body will get use to it, and soon you'll notice that you won't get sick, but this will take time. I don't have to be the best, just better than you!Working towards 11% BF and a Six pack

I have never been in a fight that lasted over 3 minutes.I am starting to have my doubts your senseiIm not an instructor yet though so I wont say anything YAY pepto bismol
