scottnshelly Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 The idea of motivational speaking with martial arts is very interesting. Do you have examples of who is currently doing this type of thing?I don’t have any celebrity examples, but my Instructors used to give motivational speeches at seminars and demonstrations. My two Instructors at my last school were employed by the Chickasaw Nation to teach Martial Arts. As part of their duties, they went to several schools in the area and gave demonstrations and would speak motivationally. They both had very colorful backgrounds and were in some trouble as youths. They spoke of how they got started in the Martial Arts and how it has helped them and all of the many benefits that come with training.I was privileged enough to accompany them on some of these trips and it was a touching experience. It’s usually pretty difficult to keep an entire gymnasium’s attention but they were always able to. Maybe it’s because right before they spoke they watched us throw each other around.
