wolfen Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 israeli is NEAR eastern. India is FAR eastern.MIDDLE eastern would be at the most western: Iraq (and this stretches it) and at the most eastern: kazakstan.
alsey Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 i disagree about israel, though i wouldn't call india middle eastern.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle_east "Gently return to the simple physical sensation of the breath. parkerlineage Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Goodness...I rather recently had an argument similar to this with my best friend's room-mate while I was in DC.I said something about Israel being in Africa, and she said, "No, it isn't."So, what, then? It's in Asia? Europe? Australia?Perhaps we would be more correct to say the conflict in the "Near East?" It just doesn't ring, sorry... alsey Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 in terms of continents, israel is in asia. near east and middle east are pretty much the same thing geographically, but near east is usually used in a historical context. so on the news you'll hear middle east, but an archaeologist would probably call it the near east. Jiffy Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Isn't it weird, we think of Asia as the likes of Chinese or Japanese, but there's so much more. The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
bushido_man96 Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 So, would you count India and the Philipenes as middle, or far east? If middle, Kalarpayatu and the stick arts would fall in there. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
