Jussi Häkkinen Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 If the video was edited, I don't think that it was by him.Neither do I.He's an old timer. A student of Sensie Higa. These guys are fast!I know, but I've seen him live. That video is edited. Jussi HäkkinenOkinawan Shorin-Ryu Seibukan Karate-Do (Kyan Chotoku lineage)TurkuFinland
JimmyNewton Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 its real.have you ever seen roy jones jr shadowboxing. you cant keep up with his hands either "The wise and successsful will always be met with violent opposition by mediocre minds."
Red J Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 The seconds timer on the video is quicker than the actual time shown for the clip. IE, the video shows from 7:23 to 8:36 (73 seconds) in just one minute. He is fast, but not that fast. How does anyone explain this? The onscreen timer shows 73 seconds of video in 60 "real time" seconds. I maintain that the video is shown at a speed that is @ 20% faster than normal. Do the math. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
Kumori Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Its real ... My sensei did it today... almost just as fast.wow ... deja vu ... anyways... I think its real.
ovine king Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 well, i've kinda given a possible explanation of the discrepancy that you noted between timer and tape as in who-ever recorded it onto digital, recorded it at a incorrect speed, knowingly or otherwise.what i mean is, is that i'm not saying that it is definitely faked or real.as of now, all we know is that the times do not match. Now that might mean that it has been tweeked but that is just a guess unless anyone here knows for definite.one thing i will say (again) though, is that I don't think that the guy was moving that fast considering that it was a low quality video that i was watching.but then again... 20+% faster.... earth is the asylum of the universe where the inmates have taken over.don't ask stupid questions and you won't get stupid answers.
Sutiivu Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 if it's not real he put that together pretty good
Killer Miller Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 I watched the video again. Although the video is about 18% faster than it should be at normal, the movements are normal and natural. The speed is realistic, and is not edited in my opinion. However, it's possible that the speed of the video was affected by the poor video quality and how the video packets are processed over the internet.Although the kata did not impress me much in terms of technique, speed, etc. for a high level performer, I still feel it was an honest attempt to demonstrate correct technique and speed.- Killer - Mizu No KokoroShodan - Nishiyama SenseiTable Tennis: http://www.jmblades.com/Auto Weblog: http://appliedauto.mypunbb.com/Auto Forum: http://appauto.wordpress.com/
Skeptic 2004 Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I hate to be a wet blanket, but edited or not, I'm not impressed. Even if he can move that quickly, why would you want to? There is such a thing as TOO fast. Do you know who Chosin Chibana is...?The Chibana Project:http://chibanaproject.blogspot.com
Freddy Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 IMHO very fake Extraordinary abilities can only come from extraordinary effort
Bleeding Lion Posted November 21, 2005 Author Posted November 21, 2005 wow, i cant believe so many people think its fake. i still think it is not edited.Would you then believe somebody can move that fast? We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence thus, is not an act, but a habit. --- Aristotle
