I'm usually bashful when I receive compliments. I try to turn it around on the person who threw out the compliment with something complimenting them...... :)

I don't have to be the best, just better than you!

In our dojo, it is a practice to try and compliment any individual that is trying hard, like "I can tell you must have been practicing", or "Your snap kicks are improving." you can always find something to compliment. A compliment is usually followed by rei and "Domo"

A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.
