shogeri Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Get a book on basic stretching and calisthenics or watch a video. Intensity, and time put into the stretch, along with frequency of stretching are the most important things to remember.Intensity = go just beyond the point that stops youTime = move the time of stretch from 10 to 30 seconds, up to 1 minute then 2 minutes, over the course of 6 weeks.Stretch 5 to 6 times a week vigorously. Light stretch 1 to 2 times a day. Do not hurt yourself. Know when to quit.Good luck! Mary Roses Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Well swimming, and running helps me alot. ^_^ It's also good to just go over on what you already know, just because you already know it doesn't mean you full understand it, going back to the basics is really good for testing the mind. Continue to practice but don't panik keep the focus and you'll beable to accomplish anything. ~Mary RosesPractice does not make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect
White_Tiger Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Jump rope! Improves footwork, coordination and is a great work out. I use a ring timer and do 'rounds'.Good luck!
shorinryu912 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 PLEASE do not overdo your strength training too much at first!!!!! I tore the tendons in my elbows to shreds trying to build too much strength too quickly when I started, and it hurt to even comb my hair, tie my shoes or drive for almost a year ... take baby steps and you will be surprised how quickly you start to progress. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time...
