Kicks
We are still recovering from Hurricane Katrina which hit the New Orleans metro area pretty hard. In it's aftermath I took many photos. Here is a page that documents some of what we are living through. Each picture tells a story:http://www.livaudaisnet.com/katrina/katrina.htm when you create the world's largest trailer park, you're going to have tornadoes
Kicks
Amazing! It finally rained this morning. The first time since hurricane Rita came through a week after hurricane Katrina. Rita was early September. Not a drop of rain all of October! And we need it. The salt water from the lake that flooded the city killed all the grass, bushes and many trees. Also the streets and yards are covered with dirt and sheetrock dust. Cars and houses are also coved with dirt and dust. It wasn't much of a rain, but we can use any washing we can get.I drove through New Orleans East Saturday night coming home from a Halloween party in Mississippi. All the lights were out in NO East. It was almost scary. As we came over what we call the 'high rise bridge' you can see all of New Orleans and beyond. It was black. Darkness all over. The only lights were those in the distance in downtown New Orleans. Weird. when you create the world's largest trailer park, you're going to have tornadoes
aefibird
How's the cleanup going Greg?I live in the UK, and New Orleans has dropped off the British media's radar now, so I haven't heard for a while how things are going there. is the city starting to return to some sort of 'normality' or are many people still to return?
