I assume you mean "lineage" Pacificshore ? :???: ... and then I would take that to mean ... the history and tradition behind your particular style and how it has evolved to how you are practicing it today?

I believe it is every martial artist's responsibility to know all that they can about their specific style and not to stop there .... be knowledgeable about other styles also. Good place to start is .... HERE  I myself have learned much about all of your (you other members) styles since I've been on this forum.

Yes, Kick Chick I did mean "Lineage" As I age my spelling tends to elude me!! My apologies if my question seemed too broad or non-specific. But I'm glad to hear that both you and YODA think your respective lineages are an important part of your training!! As it is with me.

I do enjoy searching all over the internet to learn about my chosen martial art. And unfortunately I learned more about some things than I wish I had. And there is so much more I am learning that I love.

I've done quite a bit of research on the martial arts I train in as well and got the same. From what I have seen it's like that in most martial arts. You just have to dig deep enough. It's good to know where you come.

People get upset when they hear and/or learn something negative about their art, but hey, even founders (and our teachers) of martial arts are human and it keeps us from being elitist snobs.

Enjoy the training.

Take care
