Alot of people say "yeah but when you hit me there it dont hurt!" Does that mean that the damage has not been done?

No matter how fashionable it is in Krypton, I will not wear my underwear on the outside of my Gi!!

Damge 9 times out of ten has not been done. Pain is your bodys way of telling you that something is wrong. The exception to the rule is if a nerve has been damaged or that area has lost circulation and has gone numb.

You do not need to be flexible to do a Jodan (head kick), if your opponent is already on the ground.

Just a thought, during adrenaline rush people do not feel being shot or stabbed, but they are still bleeding out! What do you think of this?

It the technique gets the desired reaction then it is effective.

For example, if you hit someone in the face and it just distracts them for that slight second so you can escape, even if it doesnt really hurt them, i would still consider that effective.

If you are hitting them and they just stand there like nothing happened, your not doing it right.

Good point. I think your absolutly right on that.

Funny , when we compete in tournaments w don't feel the pain until next day , I mean , you step out of the ring bruised all over but you feel like nothing happened (knowing that your opponent was beating the hell out of you ) until you wake up the next day and you cant walk because of a leg injury

Moon might shine upon the innocent and the guilty alike

I think you need more practice to improive your aim next time. :D

Yes, this can be true and we, as martial artists, always need to keep in mind that NO technique is guaranteed to stop an opponent because of any number of factors. It could be that the person is on drugs, adrenaline rush, or just to plain stupid to fall down and die! There always needs to be a "Plan B' in case your full-proof technique doesn't work.

There are documented cases of an average sized man on PCP being shot IN THE HEART and still continued fighting for over a minute...and fighting hard! Those are the scary ones I think. Technically, the guy was dead...his heart was gone, yet 3-4 officers still had their hands full until his mind gave out.

My nightly prayer..."Please, just let me win that PowerBall Jackpot just once. I'll prove to you that it won't change me!"
