There is nothing like the sound of gloves hitting the bag.

Nothing like the deafening silence of several pairs of lungs inhaling and exhaling, in deep meditation.

There is nothing like the quizzical look on a white belts face as he tries to figure out how to tie his gi belt.

Or the whisper of a student praying. Praying to God that he will pass his next belt test.

There is nothing like the feel of the indentions in the carpet or hardwood floor from students practicing their katas over and over agian.

Nothing like the smile of the relief as students finally recieves his blackbelt.

There is nothing like cheers and applauses for a fellow student winning a martial arts compitition.

And finally, there is nothing like fighting back tears of joy and pride as your students and your own dreams become true right before your keen eyes.

Very true.

Also - nothing like the sound of a hall of student's doing punches at the same time - that lovely gi snapping noise.

Ah, the memories we all have. It is true some of the most awe inspiring memories are the sounds. The sound I most remember is the sound of one of my first good punches when I got my first gi.

There is nothing like the sound of opening a beer after a long day at work.
