Hey all,

Couple questions for you:

1)

What is your favorite kata to use in tournaments (or just your favorite kata to do)?

2)

What is your favorite kata to watch?

3)

What is your favorite kata of all time?

My favorite to do is Anan, to watch is Choshin, and my favorite of all time is probably Anan, although it is a hard call.

1) Since I don't like tournaments, I would say Empi is my favourite to do

2) Any kata from Goju-Ryu or katas from other styles that are similar to my Shotokan katas

3) Bassai Dai. And lately Tekki/Naihanchi Shodan, there's so much bunkai in that kata....probably the only kata you'll ever need.

My favorite Kata to do in tournaments is Sochin or Gankaku. But since Im a Kumite player I hardly compete in Kata unless it some * tournament.

My favorite kata to watch is Meikyo since you hardly see it done.

And my favorite Kata to practice is Kanku-Sho.

:D

You do not need to be flexible to do a Jodan (head kick), if your opponent is already on the ground.

My favorite katas to perform at tournaments are either Kata Seipai or Kata Shisochin. Kata Sanseiru might be one of my favorites as well.

Malanovaus

Okinawan Goju-Ryu

Karate ni sente nashi
