MizuRyu
I was readin through the martial arts books at Barnes And Noble, and saw this book: "The Little Capoeira Book" by Nestor Capoeira, so I bought it. It's extremely interesting, I think about an hour after I read through the history and half of the learning section, I downloaded well over 20 videos. Anyone here have any experience or input on it? pmeckiff
I have mixed views on Capoeira. I tseems to be more of a style of danse thatn a MA. Do they actually have Kumite competiions etc.? Or is it more of a demonstration of how smooth and cool looking one can be after having practiced it?
Muaythaiboxer
haveing formerly taken capoeira for nearly a year i would say that it is more of a dance that a fighting style, although there are those who can pull it off. it really fun though. b3n
Capoeira = DancingLooks good, but if you are looking for a MA that you can use to protect yourself, go elsewhere. My Nidan Grading! Goju_boi
I don't really think it's that street effective, but once I was messing around with some guy that did it a while back.It was kinda challenging because you don't know which way theyre going to come at you since the way they move is so different to traditional martial arts. https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu

Goju_boi
I wouldn't go as far as saying it looks like ballet. https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
Willannem
It was invented as a means of self defense but hidden in dance-like moves so it would be allow'd to be practiced. It's effective. It's effective. yup, except for the last part, In modern times it has lost its MA value, only the moves are taught and in a dance form, you would get about as much self defence value out of it as you would playing soccer, well actually you learn to run as well in soccer, a highly underated skill in SD.
