I was wondering if taking just 3 months of BJJ would be worth it? Now i know what your first reaction is, NO. BUT i thought it might help me out a little bit with ground work. I've been taking krav maga for two months now, and its helped ALOT. I plan on taking it for the next 3 1/2 months also. So i thought that mayeb soem BJJ or some form could help me out a little bit.

(i ship for boot camp febuary 5th, and i plan to take 6-7 months worth of Gracie Jiu Jitsu? after boot)

Well, it certainly won't hurt. It's going to depend on how the teacher runs his class and what he teaches you. I would think that 3 months would be worth it.

It will certainly be well worth it. In three months of BJJ you can expect to know the basic escapes from poor positions and a few basic finishes from dominant positions that can end up giving you a huge advantage over someone else not trained.

A little bit of training is certainly better than no training especially since you plan on continuing your training after boot camp.

Do it!

oh man, i've been twice, and so far i've learned, 3-4 takedowns when on your knee's and a throw from a rear choke (one arm wrapped around neck) and both of those go into arm bars, and then i learned an arm bar for when opponent is on top of you. now if i only knew mount, etc etc etc and the names, i'd be good to go.

oh ya, i don't ship for about 6 months now, ohray!

your original question was "is 3 months worth it?"

Look at what you learned in two days. Imagine...3 more months. You may even be hooked longer.

When a man has lost his luck, he meets a beautiful woman.
