Today was the first day I have ever shot a pistol.

I got to shoot:

Ruger Single 6 (.22)

Thopson Contender (.22)

Sig Sauer p226 (9 mm)

Walther PPK (.380)

Para Ordinance C7 LDA (.45)

and also:

Bushmaster AR-15

Nice line up!

I would add a glock and the ruger mk2 and you would have a great representation of some great self defense weapons.

So, how did things go, what did you think of the weapons?

It was a lot of fun...

although I wasn't expecting the kick of the sig sauer after shooting the .22 revolver. Also, one of the casings hit me in the face which freaked me out for a second.

I also remember jerking the other .22 down after firing before I realized it had no kick. (I had just fired the 9mm, I think)

I expected more kick from the AR-15 and less kick from the PPK.

I think I learned a lot about gun safety. I got corrected twice by my dad's friend (who was my shooting instructor) I got corrected for putting my finger inside the trigger guard before I was ready and he corrected me for moving the gun a little bit too far to the side when reloading.

But I didn't do either one again, and that was the important thing.

Overall, it was a lot of fun and it was a very different experiece.

Congratulations!

Welcome to the world of firearms. Quite a unique experience. Especially if you've never fired a firearm before. Nothing like what's portrayed in movies, is it?

The Sig is an excellent family of firearms as is the Bushmaster AR. Not too many people get to fire such quality weapons their first time.

Personally, I have no taste for Ruger firearms or the Walther.

Hope you continue to increase your firearms knowledge, experience, and safe-handling.

Good for you! Yeah, shooting is fun. I can't even remember the first time I shot a gun. I think I was 7-8 maybe?

Fun, isn't it? I should really shoot more often. I have a gun and I've still only fired several times...

hmmm, interesting,

i live in australia, no semi automatic firearms allowed unless you have like a special license and stuff,

out in the sticks every man and his dog still have a rifle for pest control.

First thing id do if i went to america is either goto jerry springer or a shooting range

Just remember all americans carry guns  lol

It's not that I feel the world owes me anything, I don't. But, on that note. What do I owe the world? Not a thing!

Congrats! I am glad you enkoyed it. I love my AR-15 and yes, they are sweet to shoot, very little recoil and very accurate. it's also good that you got to experience several different firearms. Heck the first handgun I ever shot was a .357 snubbie. Talk about some kick and muzzle flash! :o

The .22 is one of the best and most inexpensive ways to learn handgun basics.

I live in the south, if you dont like guns here, you aint right.

Just last weakend I got to shoot some of my uncles firearms...

1. Ar-15 A2

2. Ak-47

3. Weatherby 300 magnum

4. mini 14

But out of every HANDGUN in the world I prefer the SIG SAUR p229.
