good luck watch your fingers

I know you are just kidding, but for those gentle folk who have no idea about kendo, there is little or no risk if a student is properly suited up. However... beginners are very very dangerous.... KOTE! MEN! IPPON! :D

Get ready for blisters on your palms, and to fall in love with your Shinai.

At Kendo schools ive been to, repetition is key to mastering techniques. Much the same as most other MA's. Determination is essential, but as your already a Nidan, Im sure you wont have any trouble.

Good luck.

Always check you shinai for splinters or get yourself a composite one.

Dry out your dogu before storage.

Stretch your calves and be prepared for forearms like Popeye.
