how long to fight

Hey..how long did you have to wait to fight in tournaments...coz i cant wait to fight in tournaments.Is it different for each art..i do kung fu and someone told me i have to wait THREE years to wait :sad:..how long did you guys have to wait.

When you put water into a cup,it becomes the cup.When you put water in a T-Pot,it becomes the T-Pot..be water my friend!!

The schools that do spar in my art ususally don't allow it before yellow belt. That would be between 6 and 9 months.

I was wasking my kickboxing instructor if I could go in tournies after a few months.. He said he would, but never did. He then told me at the start of the year, he'd put me in at the end of the year. That would have been 2 years training for me, 'cept I quit that dojo.

 

I recently started BJJ, seems like there's no time limit before you go in tournies.

 

I guess it depends on your instructor and dojo, as well as being *able* to fight.

Well in our club it really didn't matter.

 

We have tournaments every 4 months but it's your decision to go into it if you feel your ready.

 

 

when you do your best it`s going to show.

I spar every thursday any belts can spar no matter what you are we spar with everyone rotating partners i even spared with my Guan - Jang nim and i hurt my hand and foot but that's alright for me atleast i learned how to deffense kickings :bawling:

 

i love to spar and kick some asssses~ ^^ :bdaybiggrin:

Sparring in my school starts at white belt. It toughens up the students. But they only spar against the same belts for now.

 

As far as compitions goes. I think they should be able to compete after a couple of months. Since their are so many differnt catagories, and age/weight groups.
