Bon Posted March 23, 2002 Posted March 23, 2002 I wouldn't worry too much if he hasn't said anything to you.. Probably acting all macho in front of his friends 'cause of the bruised ego. At my school, they *have* to suspend you if you get into a fight. The rules are set by the Department of Education, not them. That's why I've been suspended twice, even when I didn't start one of them. Everyone in society doing MA ? It's not really possible. You can't force society to do things. A lot of people don't like the thought of it, especially my family. My mother said 'his father and eye haven't got a violent bone in our body, but look at him, he loves it, see?'. A lot of people don't take too well to it, and with a closed mind I don't think they would learn much, it would become another burden they must endure in their lives. I think a lot of people would use it for all the wrong reasons too. It's almost giving them tools and knowledge to hurt and possibly kill people as an alternative to guns if someone wishes. Essentially when you learn martial arts, you're training for war/combat, IMO. It takes sacrifice to be the best. There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy.
Jiggy9 Posted March 23, 2002 Posted March 23, 2002 Hey second time round - you better have hit him real hard...several times....right where it hurts. Shotokan Karate Black Belt ==Defend the path of Truth==
Joecooke007 Posted March 23, 2002 Posted March 23, 2002 If he does decide to fight you again knock him out and have him charged with harrasment, conspiracy to injure a person, exesive use of force (because he was givin' it all he had) assault and battery and if youo wanted to push it attemted murder but that's really pushing it. It's his fault if you press charges now. He chose the path. Boards don't hit back. -Bruce Lee
Crucio Posted March 23, 2002 Author Posted March 23, 2002 i dont want to press charges, too much work. Id rather just hurt him enough that he doesnt bother me and not enough that i get in trouble. Besides. Fighting twice and not getting in trouble was really lucky. and you know what they say. The third time is the charm. :-/ Also, its hard, but i like a lot of people not knowing i do a martial art. That way, people wont be scared to spar me when we have little boxing matches and stuff bunbu ichi
Prodigy-Child Posted March 23, 2002 Posted March 23, 2002 sounds like you really taught him a lesson but........from my perspective it looked like the fight lasted a bit too long ......... if i get in a fight i wanna end it as fast as i can! HIT EM' HARD AND HIT EM' FAST You can boo me if you want, You know I'm right!-Chris Rock
Angus Posted March 23, 2002 Posted March 23, 2002 What fight has ever lasted longer than 20 seconds? I was in one with two guys a couple of months ago and they had me on the floor in about 10 seconds, and then smacked me while i was down. The one before that lasted about two seconds. This is how fights should go, it's not like in the movies where u smack 'em and they keep getting back up. Angus Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.
Crucio Posted March 24, 2002 Author Posted March 24, 2002 hmm, i suppose... when i spar, i usually go from one person to the next for about an hour straight. I have good endurence becuase i used to run bunbu ichi
SBN Doug Posted March 25, 2002 Posted March 25, 2002 Registering as a black belt is down at the state level. So, check your own state's laws. I think you've shown fantastic control for your situation. Far too many guys your age feel compelled to show superiority over an agressor like that (I know I was tempted many times). Be careful when listening to circulated stories as well. I'm sure you know how the high school gossip chain goes. It could have changed from him saying he wasn't hurt too bad to he wants a rematch within two people. Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing.
