I didn't go to any homecoming. i went to the prom, and it was an arduous experience that i hope never to repeat. I believe it helped cost me my girlfriend at the time. I would have been better off not going, except for never knowing what it would have been like. :dodgy:

Anyway, don't make it a big deal. If you're there to impress a girl, or your classmates, it will be a bust. If you're there to have a good time, and to enjoy that time with others, then you'll have what you're looking for.

Well, Son Goku, as I am a lowly sophomore, and have been to only one HC, I can say little on the matter, especially as I am a girl, therefore have a very different perspective. I will say, though, White Warlock is right. If you go to have fun, you will. If you go to see and be seen...well, I can't say you'll have a good time. I went with my bf of the time last year, and I am NEVER doing that one again anytime soon. So-best advice being: We're kids. Let's try and keep our feet on the ground and our heads out of the clouds and not play drama queen (or king). It makes things worse. And besides, we don't need to worry about guys or girls yet, you can't be more than a freshman or sophomore.

Seems like you all had/have problems with the prom , and it's supposed to be the happiest night of your lives

Homecoming, Sophomore, Prom...what exactly are these? I always hear them on american teen movies but never really understood what they meant.

The Prom is a formal dance for either Juniors or Seniors in Highschool-usually a big deal with dinner first, etc.

The Homecoming Dance is preceeded by a Football game where the alumni of the school are recognized and invited to the dance.

Don't feel embarassed by taking a young lady to the prom in a 1968 car. Heck, I took my girl to the prom in a 1968 car myself! Of course, it was a 2 year old '68 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 383 magnum, 4 speed and about the hottest car in the school at the time :brow: (until my friend got a 1970 Charger R/T with a 440 magnum...grrrrr :kaioken: ).

Anyway, the whole idea of a homecoming dance and festivities is to have FUN! Not to impress anybody.

I wouldn't recommend taking a girl on any sort of date on your bike. Not cool guy.

Question...what kind of 1968 car are you driving?
