HumanTyphoon Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 "If you build a man a fire, he shall be warm for the day.If you set a man on fire, he will be warm for the rest of his life." -I forget who...Is that real?Actually, I have no idea.I like that.Setting the spark in someone, or igniting a passion within them to excel will do wonders. Far more than just congratulating them and then moving on.And much more better than putting them down, or telling them that they are worthless, etc. Thus extinguishing any flame that might exist."That's pretty deep man, even I couldn't figure what I posted."-Me, referring to Shogeri (I pictured a mad man throwing fire on a poor defenseless homeless guy)This qoute means that you must know what you should say, otherwise you will look like a fool with a mr potato head action figure stuck to his face. Thus, you gain wisdom as this is what the topic is about and so that you do not get too off topic so that Patrick decides not to press the ban button. shogeri Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Don't worry, Patrick has consulted with me many times. He is always watching, reading, and deleting...Nobody is perfect {especially me}, and every forum online (there are millions), does things differently.I am trying my best to always think before I type...I read the quote about the fire, and it didn't make sense to torch someone. Thus, the only thing left is the eternal flame within each of us. It has many uses, and is understood in many different ways. Patrick Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I don't think he was being literal. I took it as a joke. I think he might have been complementing you? Maybe we need clarification.
