Here's two:

What hurts you but doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

It is the same thing to learn how to respect, and learn how to be respected.

I made up the second myself.

What hurts you but doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.

Hmm... I like this translation better:

"That which does not kill me only serves to make me stronger."

Of course, I've seen this one a lot as well, and is perhaps more of a direct quote from one of his (Friedrich Nietzsche's) books:

"Out of life's school of war: What does not destroy me, makes me stronger."

Acheive, but do not glory in the results.

Achieve, but do not boast of the results.

Achieve results, but not through violence.

Force is followed by loss of strength.-Tao

It would seem that favor and disgrace are both to be equally feared.

What do we mean by speaking thus of favor and digrace?

Disgrace is being in a lowly position after have enjoyed favor.

Recieving favor leads to apprehension of losing it;

Losing it leads to the fear of still greater disaster.

Therefore, favor and disgrace are to be both equally feared.-Tao
