HI all. I'm new here and have thought about trying out muay thai or kickboxing.

I have no martial arts background - other than some tae kwon do when I was in elementary school. If I joined my goals would be:

- physical fitness

- confidence

- the ability to defend myself (from my very limited knowledge of martial arts, I've been told that MT and KB are two of the most useful styles)

For stand up fighting yes. But if you want to be an all round fighter you might want to do freestyle/MMA or take a stand up style and somthing like BJJ.... just a thought :karate:
