Adonis Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Alright! the "my art is to deadly" theories argument. sweet! Lets hear them. Probably something along the lines of eye gouges, groin shots, throat punches, pinching, bitting, the dim mak pressure points. the fact that you can't take your samari sword with you in the octagon. come on lets hear them.
Synaesthesia Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Although grappling can be very unwise in certain circumstances, it stands to reason that controlling weapons, for instance, is easier if you practice manipulating balance and joints. It also seems to me that in drunken fights, KO's might be more likely because the neck muscles don't have such fast reaction. (Not to mention that the average brawler is nowhere near the physical condition of the average MMA competitor.) Just a thought.
Synaesthesia Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Probably better option if you do go to the ground if you can't run away first. This reminds me of another point that merits mention. For those of us who specialize in run-fu, it is very possible that you will get tackled as you run away. It's something you want to avoid, but very possible. All the more reason to know how to fight on the ground if you have to.
shukokai2000 Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 i agree that 99% of fights go to the ground. but you have to relise you have to get passed the punch first
elbows_and_knees Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 getting past the punch isn't that hard...
niel0092 Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 The chicken, definitelyAh, but reptiles and fish also lay eggs and they were around WAY before chickens evolved therefore the egg came first.I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread. "Jita Kyoei" Mutual Benefit and Welfare
