dbrillha
I haven't been to a point style karate tournament in a while. I know trophys and such are handed out. What about cash prizes? Anyone here win any? What is a typical amount?
JAKEHE3078
The USA-NKF Holds a tournament every year in las vegas with some nice cash prizes for advanced divisions here is the info http://www.usankf.org/tournaments/USAOpen/ You do not need to be flexible to do a Jodan (head kick), if your opponent is already on the ground. cleung
In the NASKA circuit in North America, the biggest tournaments give out $100 to all first place black belt winners and more to grand champions. I took first a few times this year in this circuit so I won a few hundred but never made it to grand champion.Other major circuits like NBL do not give cash awards to senior divisions. cleung
You can find out more about the NASKA circuit on their website https://www.naska.com and since you are located in NY state, it would be pretty easy for you since most of their events are in the east coast. Actually, the head of NBL is also located in upstate NY. These are the two largest open circuits in North America.
