Goldtooth Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 greetings,Im looking for a well crafted cotton black belt, 1 3/4-2 inches thick. Id prefer one made in the USA. Any ideas? My current belt is going to rot off of me in the next few months, which is thankfully about as long as it takes for a thread here to yield some results:)cheers "What do you tell a guy with two black eyes?-nothing. Jussi Häkkinen Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 If it has to be American made, I believe that you'll find the best belts from here:http://www.eosinpanther.com/Otherwisely, I'd suggest Tokaido, Shureido or Hirota. NinTai Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 I highly recommend EosinIf your a Shodan or above i belive they can also embroider (sp)the rank stripes for you Too early in the morning? IcemanSK Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I highly recommend EosinIf your a Shodan or above i belive they can also embroider (sp)the rank stripes for youI've looked Eosin for sometime now & they certainly look as good as another others I've seen. But the price of them or Tokiado (sp?) or the other is so much more than the "average" place you could get it made.I ask completely out of ignorance, What's so special about THOSE belts as opposed to any other embroidered black belt? kurome Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Better quality material, thicker (depth and width), and definitely higher quality embroidery. Pacificshore Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Here are some pics of my belts to compare. Guess which one I much prefer well I wanted to post the pic here, but I don't know how to, so I'll do it in the gallery if anyones interested in seeing the all-around quality.Posted pics in misc gallery, FYI Di'DaDeeeee!!!Mind of Mencia
Jussi Häkkinen Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 I ask completely out of ignorance, What's so special about THOSE belts as opposed to any other embroidered black belt?High quality, often preshrunk materials, even thread tension (belt won't warp even in a decade or two of use), often thicker and wider, more stitchings. High quality embroideries (usually done before assembly, so there's no "negative" image on other side of belt), made by order (custom made). It's pretty much like comparing a cheap polyester necktie and an expensive, handmade, high quality silk tie.
