CanuckMA Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 Any person who acts with their body or relies on their physical strength to fix a problem like this is not understanding their true art form. ( correct me if I’m wrong but do Japanese martial artist really challenge people to duels just because they said something bad about their master? WHERES THE SELF DISCIPLINE!?) NO. People who think that way have been watching waaayyy too many cheap Chinese MA movies.

People who think that way have been watching waaayyy too many cheap Chinese MA movies.Oh really? and to challenge a person who dishonored their sensei is thinking any different? This is about self discipline, if someone can't ignore a simple bad mouthing to their master then they honestly should reconsider their actions. Now if you like to see who has greater fighting ability, or if your fighting for certain rights to teach white people Chinese martial arts like Bruce Lee did ( more movies eh? LOL ) that’s a whole different story. b3n Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 If the same thing happened to me, i would certainly feel like challanging them but I probably wouldnt actually do it. My Nidan Grading! Adonis Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Not really you look back in history of martial arts, chalange matches were common. weather to proves one styles or an indviduals techniques. Or to avenge one's honor. So to speak. Either way there is silly fueds among instructors in the states as well as orginzations. How is this any diffrent. Either way the person hasn't really commneted lately on thread. So why were about it.
y2_sub Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 Here is what happened , we had a tournament last Sunday (yesterday) and the guy was there so I challenged him to a match , he couldn't refuse , he was like 25 pounds heavier than me and I kicked his a^^ real hard , I K.O.ed him with a low kick in front of everybody so now he will think twice before badmouthing any one Moon might shine upon the innocent and the guilty alike
b3n Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 I think you might have added more fuel to the fire as far as this thread goes...but well done. My Nidan Grading! orion82698 Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Well... I hope you feel better. Personally, I would have walked away and laughed at the situation. I'm sure your instructor would respect you more for practicing patients and disapline, rather than rage and lack of control. In regards to the sparring, good job on the K.O I don't have to be the best, just better than you!Working towards 11% BF and a Six pack
Adonis Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Hey it wasn't no street challange. Trying to be a street thug. He challanged the guy in a tournament. which isn't that bad. Good job on the KO!

If anyone bad-mouthed anyone of my instructors, I'd laugh it off. They can fair for themselves very nicely Don't get me wrong, I would feel dis-honor in some way, but any instructor I have been taught by or is teaching me, can fight. So I would just leave it to them. But if this person was my rank, happened to be at the same tourny, and if they were in my devision, that's another story. I wouldn't "challage" them to a fight, but if it happened like that, I would definitely defend my teachers. I'd definitely be in it for the "kill" per-say hehehehehe. I'd turn into a "head hunter" LOL Laurie F

I wasn't going to participate in the tourny at the first place , I was there as a refree but when I saw him wearing his GI and ready to compete , I asked the promoter for a special match with the guy and he agreed Moon might shine upon the innocent and the guilty alike
