thinking about switching over from tkd, to hung gar kung fu, in your opinions is this a good idea, looking to see what else is out there. still going to take bjj as a second school, any comments welcome..

Depends on what you're looking for but in my opinion, yes that would be a good idea.

The only two things that stand between an effective art and one that isn't are a tradition to draw knowledge from and the mind to practice it.

Be prepared for ALOT of pain, especially in the arms and horse stance. . . . . . welcome to Kung Fu training. :D

We rely on our hands & arms a lot more than TKD. You'll have to get comfortable getting real close to your opponent. Training will focus on stance/drill work & bridge arm conditioning.

If the Hung Gar school you are thinking of going to is anything like mine, you will not have the time, energy, or desire to train in any other style at the same time. Thats not a blow to bjj i'm just being realistic and traditional hung gar demands a lot from you.
