ramcalgary
Can someone please tell me why for the good of the sport the WKA,KICK,IKF and the millions of other alphabet soup boys do not merge together into one group. Can these people not see what these types of groups have done to pro boxing? How can you promote a world champion when there are 50,000 in each weight division and each fighting category. If there were only one set of world rankings and one set of champions. Then maybe our sport would have a chance to succeed better. I propose one new NON PROFIT organization be in charge of world rankings with all promoters reporting results to this new organization. I would call this organization...the Kickboxng Ranking Association Program or KRAP for short. All kidding aside although organizations like the WKA have put kickboxing on the map. It is time to stop internal fighting and think of the sport first. Prodigy-Child
well there is a sanction called WAKO......World Association of Kickboxing organizations..... they are a very good santioning body, that and WPKA - World Profi Kickboxing Association but i can see what you are getting at Ram! this is primarily one of the reasons why kickboxing isnt getting into the olympics! Prodigy-Child
well you cannot stop people from making more and more sanctioning bodies for their sport Ram. thats why my coach fights in alot of different sanctioning bodies and will soon have me fighting in different sanctioining bodies i used to fight for the WKA...but not anymore now im fighitng for the WPKA and hopefully later this year ill be fighitng for WAKO as long as u fight in as many different sactions as u can i think u will eliminate the danger of being an empty champion [ This Message was edited by: Prodigy-Child on 2002-03-17 08:51 ] You can boo me if you want, You know I'm right!-Chris Rock

Danny boy
The only ones that are really recognised here in Australia are the Thai ones run by the Thai government.WMC and the IFMA. They are run and sanctioned by the Government not by businessmen who just want to make a profit. The ISKA and WKA used to be quite strong here but since the majority of people are involved in Muay Thai they have faded. I think the big issue isn't so much what title some one has its matching of the elete like the K 1 series that really excites the general public. 2 great fighters of equal skill is what its all about not someone with a noname world title.
