kheb3350 Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Hi - sorry I'm sure this has been asked before, but can anyone give me any advice on roughly what uniform to get? I've just started going to Shotokan Karate classes, and want to stop going in a tracksuit. Are there any brands in particular that I should be looking at? I read the thread below on weight, and think I'll try and go for medium. Thanks.
kurome Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 If you're going for cheapness with quality, get a middleweight Century, or possibly a middle/heavy Proforce, both are good quality at a low price. If you want a middleweight with a bit more umph, go for a Shureido middleweight, I own one and it's the best gi I've ever worn, but it ran me about 160 USD. kheb3350 Posted August 19, 2005 Author Posted August 19, 2005 Thanks - in UK, and not finding it easy to find Century and Proline on line - will keep looking. Lots of Kamikaze, Addidas and Blitz. Any good?
Jussi Häkkinen Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Kamikaze is good. Get Kamikaze America or Europa. Jussi HäkkinenOkinawan Shorin-Ryu Seibukan Karate-Do (Kyan Chotoku lineage)TurkuFinland
Pacificshore Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 You'll be fine with either Kamikaze or Addidas Di'DaDeeeee!!!Mind of Mencia
kheb3350 Posted August 21, 2005 Author Posted August 21, 2005 Thanks. Probably going with the Kamikaze America. Failing that probably the Addidas Elite. Just need to work out the sizes. Believe it or not have had trouble locating a decent store in Central London that stocks these, so might have to buy it online.
