y2_sub
So does it require a sumo practitioner to be fat ?? I know for instance that eating is part of the training in sumo , is that true even for amateurs ??I have also read that lots of sumo guys die before 50's due to heart problems Moon might shine upon the innocent and the guilty alike
Rikishi
So does it require a sumo practitioner to be fat ?Nop. There are several weight categories.-85 Kg (Lightweight)-115 Kg (middleweight)+ 115 Kg (heavyweight)Open ( any weight can compete). Now days many people die due to heart problems....but yes lots of sumo practitioners (Japanese mainly ) die before 50. In Europe and the rest of amateur sumo world, i believe not many follow de sumo 'diet' (except for the japanese because they also run in the amateur circuit). 90 % of amateur sumotoris are practitioners of grappling MA's ( Judo, Sambo, BJJ, Greco-Roman wrestling, etc...), so i beleive they eat normally. One year later.....! Japan again..This time to win, and not to get injured I HOPE!
