arcelt Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 My favorite kata has always been Shisochin. I'm a rather lanky anglo sort, and I've sometimes been concerned that so many Okinawan kata seem to be built with the stereotypical compact Okinawan build in mind. Shisochin features long, deep stances and snappy movements that seem to flow more naturally with my body type. "Mo ichi do!"--Morio Higaonna

Kuma Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Sanchin is by far my favorite kata. It builds karate posture, teaches you how to be rooted yet mobile, is good physical training, and makes for stronger techniques in my opinion. I do it every day.
mizu Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 CHINTEhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DG9L0rJwgAChinte is a great kata - I think it's quite under-rated. Certainly the bunkai is quite exotic!
