welshdragon Posted August 16, 2005 Share Posted August 16, 2005 i do shotokan......and i'd have to say i've got two favorite katas.....no make that three!! i just cant decide. they're all 1st dan katas, and they are Kanku Sho, Nijushiho and Bassai Sho!!! lol, they are all really good, but i use Kanku Sho in competition! the jump attracted me to it, and now i've fllen for it as a ktat!! lol and now the training begins........... Sauzin Posted August 16, 2005 Share Posted August 16, 2005 I like hakutsuru (we actually do a goju version) & seiuchin but my fav right now is probably gojushiho-cho.For weapons it is Shimijiri no kun ni. The only two things that stand between an effective art and one that isn't are a tradition to draw knowledge from and the mind to practice it. Sunsu is probably my favorite open hand, and Shi Shi No Kun No Dai is probably my favorite weapons kata although it feels like it takes forever to get through sometimes. He who knows others is wise.
