Thanks for the feedback guys! :smile:

 

I have decided to leave the dojo I described in the original post. They're nice enough people but absolutely everything is geared towards competition, specifically competition kumite.

 

I have found a new dojo 15 minutes away and they're a traditional Wado club so I am really pleased, and I cannot wait to start my training with them! :smile: :smile:

Wise decision breaker. You should always seek that which you desire.

 

I favour tradition , but i also include kumite in my classes and enter comps. But Karate without the tradition in empty. and sport karate is just sport. You need to find a balance between the two.
