JimmyNewton Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 tigerclaw.comand shureido.comtigerclaw is about 45 bucks for a really nice heavyweigth gi.shureido is around 150.00 i think., but i've heard that your paying a lot for the brand as well.i think you'll like the tigerclaw. thats what we use in our dojo and the heavyweights are sweet. isshinryu5toforever Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 A high quality Shureido superheavyweight dogi is over $200. Tokaido dogi are very good quality. There is also a custom company called Satori. satorigi.com is their website I believe. That is where I got my dogi from. I can say that I like the one that I have very much. Good quality, very durable. 15 oz canvas material I believe. It was around $150 I believe. He who knows others is wise. kurome Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Actually, with Shureido you aren't paying for the brand, you pay about 100 dollars in shipping fees by the time it finally reaches you. Shureido gi aren't that expensive at all if you're in Okinawa. JimmyNewton Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 go with tigerclaw. you can hold one up to shureido and cant' really tella difference. trust me on this. "The wise and successsful will always be met with violent opposition by mediocre minds."
yamesu Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Tokaido are good.I think the heaviest youll get is a 16oz canvas dogi though. At least thats the heaviest ive seen. "We did not inherit this earth from our parents. We are borrowing it from our children."
