That was pretty cool, I have a question what are the rules? And why don't you guys just shoot and take your opponent down more ?, It didn't seem like it was that hard to do. Man he almost had the armbar, the guy just knew how to roll into it.

I loved that early takedown in the second video....guy tries an aerial spin kick in a fight like that. Was so satisfying seeing him hit the mat :lol:

I take TKD and HKD, but that was the first time I saw a HKD tournament. Looks cool. I'd like to see more too. Thanks for posting that.

This Hapkido tournament looks more like a ju jitsu tournament. Looking at the videos I don't really see the point of kicking here. It doesn't look very useful, because the contestants don't seemed get anywhere with it. Here, the only use for kicking I can think of you is to keep the opponent at a distance. Why don't they immediately just go for grappling instead? Just like in brazillian ju jitsu.
