ShotokanKid Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 do you know if its a classical guitar? "What we do in life, echoes in eternity.""We must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men."
Kicks Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I play guitar. I taught myself, my first songs were 'Take me Home Country Roads' and 'Heart of Gold'. One year I spent my whole summer learning nothing but Led Zeppelin songs. In college I played in a 'reception' type band. We did everything from Country, to Disco, to Rock. My acoustic is a Seagull S6 ( http://www.crossroads-music.com/guitar.shop/SeaGull/seagullgtr.html )and my electric is a circa 1971 Les Paul Custom. I also have a knock-about acoustic that I take out doors. I'm currently teaching my daughter how to play. I'm teaching myself Canon in D, I like the Christmas Canon arrangment by Trans-Siberian Orchestra (check out the video "The Christmas Attic- Christmas Canon" at http://www.trans-siberian.com/multimedia/video.shtml when you create the world's largest trailer park, you're going to have tornadoes
ZR440 Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 um... i uh... er.... i can't actually tell if my strings are steel or nylon . they're whatever came on the guitar, which i assume is nylon. i don't know what i'm gonna' do if when i have to change strings... i hope i'll have learned how by then, i don't really have the funds to buy a new guitar every 8 weeks... or every time i break one... grahg. monkeygirl, i seem to have the opposite problem as you, as my hands are to big and tend to get in the way and block off strings innappropriately, which is the other problem i'm having with the f chord. i have to believe that happens to everyone though, because for the love of god i can't make it stop...Ever seen Yngwie Malmsteen's hands? They're huge. And he plays a scalloped neck to boot. His dexterity and nimbleness is incredible. Buy the G3 in Denver DVD. Vai and Satriani rocks in it too. It's happy hour somewhere in the world.
man thing Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 I've been teaching myself/playing with others. Bluegrass, lil country, gospel.
