Taku-Shimazu Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I have just a 'Squire' by Fender 'Strat' And a £60 effects processing unit. And also a small fender amp but don't ask too much about specs because I am still quite new to playing. The cool summer breeze passes me by.
choppingfiend Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I tried to teach myself, but I don't think my hands are big enough... I wish I could stretch them out.
Du Hast Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 I play guitar (for the past 20 yrs) and bass guitar (for the past 7 yrs or so). I also tried playing upright bass, but gave it up after 6 months or so - same with drums. I'll probably pick up the upright again at some point - it appeals to me even though I am a metalhead.I play bass in a band, and I'm switching to guitar as soon as we can find a replacement (bass players are very hard to find - which is one reason I started playing bass in the first place!).
Sensei Rick Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 I've been playing my whole life. Stevie ray is my Bruce lee of guitar. My biggest claim to fame is I once opened up for Kansas and Yes. Well my band did. I have played lead forever and I used to be a coffee shop player on my acoustic. I have owned so more guitars than sneakers in my life. I love music more than anything in the world. I've always said that if i had to choose between my ears and my eyes it wouldn't be a choice. I have seen all that I need to see. I've seen Pam anderson after all. but I don't believe that i've heard the most beautiful sounds in the world. without music i'd wanna just die. And stevie ray's version of JIMI's little wing is one of the most moving things i've ever heard. Don't forget to break out Leo Kotke tho. place clever martial arts phrase here
Vylrath Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Heya,I've been playing guitar for about five years now. I play an Eric Clapton Fender Strat inherited from my parents and a crazily downtuned custom Washburn that I got from the guitarist Kai of the band Noise Therapy!I enjoy playing all styles, but my passion is metal. I'm in a band right now, we play rock. Our band is a lot of fun -- the other guy and I play guitar and do the electronics/mixing, and the three girls play bass, drums, and sing/keyboard. It's a good combination, it sounds a lot like Evanescence meets Smashing Pumpkins with crazy guitar solos randomly thrown in for good measure. I have a solo project as well that's straight up metal -- I do everything: guitars, vocals, bass, and a drum machine. Tons of fun ... I don't know what I'd be doing now if I didn't have music in my life! - Brian Brian Chambersbrian.chambers@charter.net
TAZ Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 I've been playing guitar for about 8-9 years. Not much at all for the past 3, though. I play mostly rythym. Mainly self taught. I really miss playing. Maybe when the time is right I will play again. "Blessed be the Lord my Rock, and my keen and firm Strength, Who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight." Psalm 144:1
srv Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 I've been playing guitar for about 15 years. Started learning classical at school. Bought myself a cheap electric and amp. I just love sitting around playing rhythm / chords and attempting to sing!! Love pulling out the guitar around the campfire and having a jam. I now have a Gibson epiphone electric and an acoustic electric (Epiphone as well.) I play anything really that I'm into at the time. Mostly rock - love playing a lot of acoustic rock - Counting Crows, U2, Crowded House, as well as stuff like Nirvana, Radiohead, Pearl Jam. Also attempt to write and record a bit. Music was my 1st passion before I found martial arts, now it's my 2nd.
cnada Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Acoustic & electric. Started learning when I was in 10th grade(1996-1997). Stopped taking lessons about 3 years ago(got too expensive), so now I'm kinda teaching myself If you're not laughin', you're not livin'!--Carlos Mencia
Sohan Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Played guitar since I was 8, over 30 years. Have owned Strats, a BC Rich, a couple Gibsons including a vintage SG, and a Flying V. Have had the same Ovation acoustic for almost 20 years. I'm not really that good, I just love the guitar.Respectfully,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth."
