karate kid 1 Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 i wish to start kickboxing i also do karate im 8th kyu in karate do you reccomend this style FEAR is only a four letter wordRORY
yamesu Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Reccomend which style?Kickboxing could possibly compliment your karate, you may even end up enjoying kickboxing more that your previous styles.I like Shotokan, and think it is a very worthy karate style, producing strong katateka. So, IMO, id personally stick with Shotokan.Your only an 8th kyu, so theres still sooooo much more karate has to offer you.Keep us informed on your decision.Good luck. yamesu Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 Id go traditional-Thai if you can find a legit school.Thats just my opinion though. "We did not inherit this earth from our parents. We are borrowing it from our children."

CagedWarrior Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 Muay Thai definitely. American kickboxing is pretty tame.
Muaythaiboxer Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 well i wouldent go that far there still way more hard core than most styles but they do look a little bit soft compaired to good boxers/MT guys Fist visible Strike invisible
