Goju_boi Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I agree with you,but as for me sparring is the most fun were I train.I just wish it was full contact . Anyways, sounds like your'e a yellow belt,am I right? https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
Kara Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 i stopped at senior yellow at my dojo. unfortunatly i have to start new after i've moved. Full contact sparring is mostly for the guys. i wouldn't mind, probably love it! but couldn't see practicing all the time in full contact. i liked it just as it was at my old dojo *tear KBear"lick your wounds, anxious for the next ones"
Goju_boi Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 so you moved from one goju-ryu dojo to another? https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
Kara Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 no, not exactly. i'm not in training at the moment. need to find a new dojo still. (hense... http://www.karateforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=22513 ) KBear"lick your wounds, anxious for the next ones"
Goju_boi Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 no, not exactly. i'm not in training at the moment. need to find a new dojo still. (hense... http://www.karateforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=22513 )ohh ok,that doesn't sound good.Well what karate styles and other styles are there in your area? https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
Kara Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 There's practically everything in Calgary. i just can't decide which to try or where to go. almost any possible style is available to what i've seen. I've been looking around and found '1' goju school in the city, probably go there when i can afford it. though if it doesn't work out for whatever reason i'd have to start a new practice. i think i'd like tang soo do, or shorin ryu or kempo or just go to TWD... Goju_boi Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Tang soo do,shorin ryu and kempo sound good from transitioning from Goju Ryu.i don't know about Tae Kwon Do,it's too kick oriented for transitioning from Goju ryu.Personally I would do either shorin ryu or kempo because theyre both okinawan so you would be more familiar with thr way they work. https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
