sano Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 yeah thats the same guy drunken monkey. he had to stand in for him because he keep moving forward when he performed moves, which you are suppose to do in a real fight. falcon kick!!!
Ironberg Posted September 9, 2003 Posted September 9, 2003 adam sandler vs bob barker in "happy gilmore" Who could forget that. "The price is wrong, !" Reminds me of the old James Bond movies where we have a highly trained spy who fights like a clumsy, high-school, bloke. In seriousness, I really liked most of the fight scenes in both the Matrix movies, I'm surprised only one other person has mentioned them. "An enlightened man would offer a weary traveler a bed for the night, and invite him to share a civilized conversation over a bowl of... Cocoa Puffs."
mouko_yamamoto Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 I'm goin g to say this movie, cause I guess noone else has seen it. Jet Li in Twin Warriors/Tai Chi Master (same movie) The end fight is cool, Jet is doing tai chi, and the other guy gets pissed and is like, "DID YOU COME TO FIGHT, OR TO DANCE?!?!" (then proceeds to get is * handed to him.) Tang Soo Do/Tae Kwon Do....Oh yeah, and unofficially...KENJUTSU"There are five possible operations for any army. If you can fight, fight; if you cannot fight, defend; if you cannot defend, flee; if you cannot flee, surrender; if you cannot surrender, die." ~ Sima Yi
WhiteShark Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 Although Jackie Chan versus the Axe Gang in Legend of Drunken Master is my all time favorite. There is one interesting fight from non-martial artists that most folks never mention. Pierce Brosnan v Sean Bean in Golden Eye. The fight they have in the satelite antenna is one of the best shot close quarters fights I've ever seen If you haven't seen it give it a look some time. Also it's the first time James Bond fights like a Black Ops agent would! Rock Paper ScissorPunch Knee Kick^ME^ ^MY DOJO^
Drunken Monkey Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 (edited) (major typo) he might want to move forward in a fight but they were doing a fight scene. if he can't NOT move forward then it says a lot about his control of himself. Edited September 12, 2003 by Drunken Monkey post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
sano Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 i finally agreed with you on something and you had to turn it around. YOU SUCK!!! falcon kick!!!
Drunken Monkey Posted September 12, 2003 Posted September 12, 2003 just pointing something out that tall guy was some kinda tkd pro i think but he kept messing up a simple thing. watch the little one from jackie's team. i know they have a lot of takes but still, when they get it right, it is just so precise. post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
cymry Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 And when Miyagi kicked that crap outta the boys that were beating on Daniel (the first one) hehehehe. The little ol' man beatin the crap outta 4 or 5 guys. It was soooooo funny. My favourite Miyagi fight is probably when the instructor from the Cobra Kai (sorry if the spelling's wrong) tried to beat him up. Miyagi moves right out the way twice, leaving the guy to punch through two car windows and slash his hands on the broken glass. Then Mr. Miyagi gets a hold on him. The guy looks like he's about to cry as Miyagi chambers his hand for a devastating strike. Then he just grabs hs nose and goes HONK. And the guy fainted!
cymry Posted October 26, 2003 Posted October 26, 2003 I would have to say all the floors of the Pagoda in Game of Death (the original Bruce Lee version) Not only were they quite un-movie-like, but he talks about MA stuff as he goes along e.g. broken rhythm. If he had lived to its completion, there's no doubt in my mind that Game of Death could have been one of the greatest MA movies of all time.
hajime Posted October 30, 2003 Posted October 30, 2003 Jackie Chan vs. Benny Urquidez in Meals on Wheels (end fight) Jackie Chan end fight in the mall in Police Story Bruce Lee V 'Karl' in locker room in 'Game of Death' all these stick in my mind but then so do tonnes of short moves from Van Damme and all great martial artists 700 hours of official training. Injury finished me dammit!1st Kyu Wado Ryu
