thaiboxerken Posted July 17, 2001 Posted July 17, 2001 Get wooden training weapons. You can still get the same training with these and it's safer. Just kick 'em, they'll understand.- Me Apprentice Instructor under Guro Inosanto in Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipinno Martial arts.Certified Instructor of Frank Cucci's Linxx system of martial arts.
Angus Posted July 17, 2001 Posted July 17, 2001 Uhuh, here's the plan mate: Go to your garage and build cyborg twins of your parents and program them to do exactly the same stuff your parents do only that the must let you do whatever you want. The simply annihilate your real parents and live the high life. It couldn't be any easier! Angus Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.
iamrushman Posted July 17, 2001 Posted July 17, 2001 with the problems with children and parents these days, i hope ANGUS is just joking and really doesn't mean it. rushman (karate forums sensei)3rd dan wtf/kukkiwon"saying nothing...sometimes says the most"--e. dickerson
Kickbutt Posted July 17, 2001 Posted July 17, 2001 I think it's pretty safe to say Angus is being sarcastic... Anyways, like Ken said, use the wooden ones to start - if you really want to learn how to use the weapons, it won't matter how you learn, right? When you've started to get good with them, then ask your parents again and show them that you are proficient enough to warrant buying the real thing. Angus Posted July 17, 2001 Posted July 17, 2001 HAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Oh dear.... Angus Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.
niel0092 Posted July 18, 2001 Posted July 18, 2001 Wooden weapons are the way to go here. What I WOULDN'T do is go get real ones on your own. All it takes is for your parents to find them and you may not be allowed to train in MA's at all. Definately not worth it considering the fact in a number years you'll probably be out of the house and can buy whatever you want anyway. The lost training time never comes back though. username237 Posted December 13, 2001 Posted December 13, 2001 i know it sounds boring but just dont go behind your parents back. Then they could even stop you training altogether if they think its a bad influence! i agree with the others, ask them if you can have wooden weapons
Henry South Posted December 13, 2001 Posted December 13, 2001 when i got my first sword it was the most fantastic and liberating experience. one that must be savored. im not trying to be pompus but i think that the longer you wait and the more you train with wooden wepons the first time you unshith your REAL sword you will know that you can use it and not take your arm off. and you know that it is yours and you have erned it. yours sincerly Henry South
Henry South Posted December 13, 2001 Posted December 13, 2001 Sorry i forgot to mention i had left home before i was awarded my first sword. my parents were the same when i told them that i wanted a meter long razor sharp blade tho.
