I'd be surprised if anyone has heard of him (since you're not in a particularly huge part of Canada) but you'll be able to tell if he's a good teacher, I think. If you feel comfortable under him and if he works well with you, then just enjoy the ride.

BTW, I love the kotegaeshi at full speed!

it doesn't really matter on the Sensei but the student.

Remember this. training under a good Sensei doesn't gurantee you anything, whereas a talented student learns all just the same from any other dojo.

The bottom line is: can you learn and execute the technique effectively in real life.
