Adonis Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 rip out the yellow pages martial arts section tack it on to a dart board. Get a dart close your eyes and throw. If you miss the board completely try again. Good luck!
Adonis Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 yeah but then it wouldn't be a good idea to throw darts at your computer screen now would it?
mantis Posted August 10, 2005 Posted August 10, 2005 yeah but then it wouldn't be a good idea to throw darts at your computer screen now would it?now that depends what kind of screen cleaner he has
Kajukenbopr Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Depends. What do you wish to gain from training? Strong kicks, and excellent tournament prowess? Go with Taekwondo.Relaxation, and the building of internal energy? Go with Tai ChiCool looking forms and a better sense of fluidity? Pick a Kung Fu schoolReliable, useful, quick to the point Self Defense Techniques? Go with Kempo, Kajukenbo, Jujitsu, Jeet Kun Do, or perhaps one of those Israeli military defense schools like Krav Maga.Want to learn to straight up fight in and out of the ring? Go Muay Thai, JKD (a GOOD school), Brazillian Jujitsu, or quite simply a gym that runs a decent Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) class.Of course I am generalizing greatly in the way I am describing systems here, but this is the basic jist of what you're looking at if you really have no idea what style to choose from.Good luck with whatever you decide to do!-KTthe best answer I read in this thread <> Be humble, train hard, fight dirty
Menjo Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 i ended up choosing because of conveince, however i think that was the best decision in other aspects also. "Time is what we want most, but what we use worst"William Penn
unknownstyle Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 go and check out your local schools "Live life easy and peacefully, but when it is time to fight become ferocious."
sensi R Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 i have a black belt in kempo and that style is great. but now i am going to start training in Hung Gar which is awsome, so it all depends on what you like and what you want to achieve you must learn to be like waterstill and flowing
Jay Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 iv said it millions of trimes and il say it again try it and pik it if you enjoy it every martial art is good for defence except weopns martial arts if you forget your bo or sword or whatever lol The key to everything is continuity achieved by discipline.
Adonis Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 not really depends on who's teaching the weapon arts. Look at Some filipino stick fighting arts. They teach stick first and how you can use those motions to empty hand fighting even if you don't have the weapons. So depends on knowledge base of the instructor. Definetly just check out he local gyms and dojo's and see which one you like the best and are more comfortable with and go for it!
