ShotokanKid
Yesterday, I went to go see the King Tut exhibition at L.A. County Museum of Art. It was so amazing! I couldn't take my eyes of half of the stuff. Anybody seen King Tut or some really cool exhibition? I'd say the coolest thing I've seen was Mona Lisa in France. What about you? fallen_milkman
Weird you'd mention the 47 Ronin, I just learned about them today during one of my Answers.com adventures. I just search a topic that is very general and click the links in the article to see where they take me. I ended up seeing pictures of that very shrine, and an article about their story. Very cool stuff. On a side note, I know some very rediculous random knowledge due to these Answers.com adventures. 36 styles of danger

Kieran-Lilith
Anyone read The 47 Ronin Story by John Allyn? It's one of my all time favorite books. And in a way, it's rather...haunting, for me, at least. I've never read anything like it before, or since. Quite frankly, I don't think I ever will. ShotokanKid
yea, the 47 ronin was a good story, loyalty to your lord and cunning, thats how i think of themEvery year in Japan, during the winter, they have Chushingura, the story of the 47 Ronin, on television. It's very difficult to understand, kind of like Shakespeare to the average speaker of English. "What we do in life, echoes in eternity.""We must all fear evil men. ShotokanKid
"The forty-six ronin did so on February 4, 1703. (This has caused a considerable amount of confusion ever since, with some people referring to the "forty-six ronin"; this refers to the group put to death by the Shogun, the actual attack party numbered forty-seven.) They were also buried in Sengaku-ji temple, as they had requested, in front of the tomb of their master. The forty-seventh ronin eventually returned from his mission, and was pardoned by the Shogun (some say on account of his youth). He lived until the age of seventy-eight, and was then buried with his comrades."I did not know this, glad I went to the website!Great website, thanks for telling me about it fallen_milkman! aefibird
Yesterday, I went to go see the King Tut exhibition at L.A. County Museum of Art. It was so amazing! I once saw a travelling exhibition about the Ancient Egyptians. It was very cool (except I went as a supervisor with the Special Needs children I work with and so was one of a group of 75 people in total, which was slightly less cool.)Apart from that, I've seen the Mona Lisa and Monet's Waterlilies, which were also amazing to look at.
