I'm looking for a full body padded suit.

Well frankly it'd be great to have one of these. I could find hours of fun things to do with it. but there has gotta be a set cheaper than 1,000 USD.

It's not that fun...

I thought about building a ste, but I couldn't find all the neccisary parts.

Can you help me out here?

Hmmm...

There's those redman suits like they use on mythbusters. I've used those before, they are pretty good.

The only other one I've heard of is Blauer's High Gear suit.

But what if:

Fairtex Muay Thai Chest Protector

Fairtex Shin and instep guards

Fairtex Thigh protector

Fairtex boxing gloves or MMA gloves

Any kind of leather headgear with full face protection.

Century forearm protector (I forgot the name of the line)

Pros: Good protection, much less than $1000 bucks

Cons: Get hit from behind, you're dead!

The Blauer suit is nice, but the price has gone up the last time I looked into one. There is also the FIST suit, but in my opinion, very bulky. Then you have the RED MAN suit by Macho. They too seem bulky, but lighter than the FIST suit. Every now and then I'd find one on EBay for sale. The unfortunate thing about self defense suits is that they are expensive no matter who you decide to buy. I think for the the best overall mobility, and protection would be the Blauer suit. Don't forget Kipp's FAST style BulletMan suit. Pricey at $1000 for the training and $1000 for the suit.

Everytime you decrease bulk for mobility, you increase risk. Nothing is perfectly safe. Good compromises can be made. The BulletMan is known to protect the neck when the face is punched full out but the knees are exposed.

Compromise is the name of the game. The biggy for me would be the repitious damage to the brain from concussion...
