Killer Miller Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 It will take you about a month or two of training to learn the outside movements of your first level. Then a couple of more months to learn and understand the inside movements to be ready to test. Now notice that I used the words to "learn and understand." However, I did not use the word "perfect." It takes about a year to actually perfect your first level kata, techniques, and "inside movements."- Killer - Mizu No KokoroShodan - Nishiyama SenseiTable Tennis: http://www.jmblades.com/Auto Weblog: http://appliedauto.mypunbb.com/Auto Forum: http://appauto.wordpress.com/

bujin Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Focus on your training instead of ranks. You'll want to train to be fluid. >> Demura Shihan is actually a practitioner of >> Itosu-Kai Shito-Ryu Karate-Do. Actually, he is no longer affiliated with Itosu-kai. Demura Shihan currently heads his own organization - Shitoryu Karate-do Genbu-kai.(i.e. - http://www.genbukai.org)>> Grandmaster Demura...To avoid confusion, "Shihan" is the appropriate title/word to use instead of "Grandmaster".
