mastertae Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 To most koreans I've talked to the consider the side kick and the front kick to be the most important kicks not the high flying fancy jump hook kicks and so fourth. Is it not easier to strike a mountain than it is to strike a fly!
TKD_McGee Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 Front Snap = Quickness Side Kick = Power Couldn't agree more, cept like Round House too. Do unto others, as they done to you.
three60roundhouse Posted March 7, 2002 Posted March 7, 2002 I like back kicks - you ust have to have a little more time. I also like roundhouse - they re extremely quick. But, all in all, I think the most effective are front and side kicks. 1st dan Tae Kwon DoYellow Belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu16 Years OldGirls kick butt!
SBN Doug Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 I agree with TKD, but we don't snap our front kick. So, there's a decent amount of power it it as well. Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing.
spinninggumby Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 I like the front thrust/push kick, the turning kick, the side kick, and if I have enuff time the spinning back kick. The front thrust is good for intercepting, taking the wind out of, or stopping ur opponent in his tracks and then afterwards if necessary you can follow up with whatever u want. In self-defense it's probably best to stick with the low front snap or front push/thrust to groin or solar plexus or other vital places but in TKD sport and tournaments a lotta times the turning kick is like what everyone uses 90% of the time.
