Hi guys(and gals), I was wondering if any Goju (or any other styles it's relevant to) practitioners could describe some Hojo Undo exercises for the nigiri-gami (sp?) and chi-ishi, as i've had a look around the net and haven't had any luck finding sites with descriptions of exercises.

Cheers guys

That's a great site run by a great karateka. I've got all my hojo undo equipment from him. He also sells (his store is down as he isn't in the country right now) a cd with him describing and demonstrating many exercises to do with the various types of equipment.

Sensei Morio Higoanna (spelling !) also did 2 tapes specific to hojo undo, they are superb IMO.

Anyone know where to get proffesional quality hojo undo kit in the UK PLEASE !

haha. Funny I should see this.

My Sensei just told me last night to find out everything I can about online stores, he wants to sell Hojo Undo stuff but doesn't know anything about computers. Small world.

As for the nigiri-game, you can grip them and practice stepping in various stances.

For Chiishi, you can use a shoulder throwing motion, a motion similar to a "figure 8" with the nunchaku, and some others, but I can't think of how to describe them.

And Ishi Sashi (sp?) , grip and do your techniques.

You can also try https://www.bushipower.com.

He sells a chisa/nigirigame set that allows you to add

weights to. I'll be getting a set this comming week if anyone

has any questions about them.

I believe that it also comes with a book of exercises.

Here's a pic:

I tend to use the chi ishi, the nigiri game and ishi sashi 3 days a week, the tetsu geta on 3 different days a week. My dojo itself doesn't really have a specific hojo undo program, it's just my personal preference.
